Eligibility Requirements:

In order for the students to be eligible to apply for the bursary, they must be UK/Home domiciled and have received an offer for a Postgraduate program at GSA for the 2023-24 academic year. Their application will be evaluated based on the listed criteria and the strength of their supporting statement.

Students who already receive another GSA scholarship or bursary for the 2023-24 academic year may not be considered for this particular bursary.
Applicants should belong to at least one of the following Widening Participation categories:
Reside in areas of high Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) Quintile 1.
Reside in areas of Low Participation in Higher Education (LPN) POLAR4 Quintile 1.
Come from low-income families (eligible for Free School Meals in the last six years).
Have care experience.
Young careers are individuals who provide unpaid care for a friend or family member who cannot manage without their assistance.
Have a disability.
Application Process:
The students can verify their postcode’s IMD score by using the online lookup tool. To be eligible, their postcode should have a 1-2 rating in column F.

To determine if they live in a Low Participation Neighborhood, the students can utilize the online postcode lookup tool. For eligibility, their postcode must fall under Quintile 1 according to POLAR 4 (refer to the table on the map).

Important: UK/Home students must provide their home address as verified by Student Finance England (SFE) before starting their university program.

Supporting Documents:

The students are expected to write a supporting statement of up to 300 words, explaining how this bursary would be advantageous for them. It is essential to consider this matter thoughtfully, as the statement will play a significant role in the evaluation process.
